Super Exciting News

Hello world!! I have some super exciting news. As you all have seen, I have been posting a lot of traveling posts lately. I mainly post these because summer is coming up & it’s prime time for traveling. But most of all, I love traveling. Consequently, my sister enjoys it just as much as I do. She has gone to many many places like France, London, Ireland, the Bahamas, & lots of other places. However, the reason she’s able to travel so much is because of her job. She recently got an opportunity to go to Puerto Rico for a very inexpensive price & has invited my mom & I! I’m so excited to go & relax & be on the beach & not have a care in the world. Not to mention it’s perfect timing since finals are right around the corner. So it’s kind of like the calm before the storm. I’m also super excited to be able to share my opinion & experience with you guys!(:

A to Z Carryon Essentials

Hello world!! Summer’s coming up which means lots & lots of traveling for some people, myself included. Traveling is always super stressful & when I’m traveling I always forget the things I need most. So since it’s traveling season it’s only fitting to make a carryon essential list. Enjoy…

A. Advil- I basically bring any type of pain killer that way if you get a head ache, cramps, or any discomfort on the plane I can get some relief.

B. Book- I like to bring a book just so I can keep myself entertained. Also, sometimes when you’re flying you have to pay for wifi or tv so a book is my favorite way to keep myself entertained.

C. Cozy Socks- To me the planes temperature is always set at -30 degrees (Totally over exaggerating). So I like to keep my little piggy’s warm with some cozy or fuzzy socks.

D. Dolla’ Dolla’ Bills y’all- As much as everyone wishes the world was free, it’s not. ): So don’t forget your money!

E. Elastic Hair Ties- I absolutely love elastic hair ties for any sort of traveling. Elastic hair ties don’t pull too tight on your head so you won’t have any hair tie crease if you decide to take your hair out.

F. Food or Snacks-  Unless you want to pay $20 for a bag of peanuts, I recommend bringing food on your flight.

G. Gum- I like to bring gum on the plane just so my breath can stay fresh & so I can get rid of my plugged ears.

H. Headphones- Once I’m done reading or once I get tired I like to put my headphones in & listen to some music.

I. Identification- My worst fear is not being able to travel because I left my ID at home OR losing my ID & not being able to get home. So not only bring your ID but make sure it’s in a safe place.

J. Jacket or Sweatshirt- As I said before, the plane is like -30 degrees so I totally recommend bringing a jacket or hoodie or sweatshirt to stay warm.

K. Kleenex- Instead of getting up all the time to grab tissues from the bathroom & disturbing everyone it would be soo much easier to just grab kleenexes from your carryon.

L. Lotion or Any Sort of Moisturizer- I grew up in Colorado which means I have always had very dry skin. My skin

M. Makeup Only a Little- I say only a little bit of makeup because I get super uncomfortable with a full face of makeup on.

N. Neck Pillow- This is just a must when flying… c’mon

O. Oil Blotting Wipes- As well as having super dry skin, I have super oily skin. Oil blotting wipes are amazing when going on a trip!

P. Portable Charger- When I listen to music on a plane/iPad my phone battery decrease more & faster than usual. So I bring my portable charger that way my phone/iPad is fully charged when I land.

Q. Q-tips- I usually bring about 6 to 8 Q-tips on my flight just in case my ears get too plugged up.

R. Rollable Perfume- Rollable perfume has so many pro’s when traveling. Like it’s travel size, it doesn’t spray everywhere, & it’s super compact. However, I wouldn’t put it on on the plane because there are other people around you & they may hate the smell or it gives them a head ache. I usually put it on right after I get off the plane.

S. Sunglasses- Even if I’m not going somewhere tropical, I like to bring my sunglasses on the plane that way when I land I have them with me & if it is sunny I can just put them on with no problem.

T. Travel Sized Toiletries- If you don’t want to risk your shampoo & conditioner exploding in your bag, you should probably bring your baby shampoos & conditioners.

U. Undies- Well… yeah! You get it…

V. Vasoline- If you’re anything like me, you always lose your chapstick. So I like to bring vasoline for my lips because it’s in a sightly larger container than chapstick so it’s super hard to lose.

W. Wet Wipes-   I like to bring wet wipes just to wipe down my seat on the plane because I’m kind of a germapho 😀

X. X-treme Hype- GET HYPE! YOU’RE GOING ON VACATION!

Y. Your A Game- Traveling is super stressful & exciting so don’t forget to bring your A game so you can stay on top of things.

Z. Zip Lock Bags for Toiletries- Ending on a more practical note, don’t forget zip lock bags for any kind of shampoo, conditioner, lotion, ect…

Throwback to the 90’s

I haven’t been the first to notice that the 90’s fashions are making a comeback & I’m definitely not the first to absolutely love it! With that being said, I compiled a list of my favorite 90’s fashion trends that are making a comeback.

Chokers. Chokers were an iconic part of the 90’s. Everywhere from punk rockers to American sweethearts took part in this trend. Chokers started to make a comeback in the mid 2010’s & I love it.  A choker necklace is such a simple addition to a daily look and although it’s so simple, it’ll be the statement piece and the conversational starter of your outfit.

Plaid skirts. The beautiful Alicia Silverstone from Clueless & her unforgettable yellow & black plaid skirt paved the way for the trend of plaid skirts. Plaid skirts can either make someone look like a private school girl or a trend setter so use caution when deciding what to pair with your plaid skirt. I recommend a crop top or a belt.

Socks & Sandals. Whether you’re wearing strappy sandals or birkenstocks, adding a pair of thigh high or ruffle trimmed socks can add such funness to an outfit. It also gives your outfit personality.

Double buns. Miley Cyrus reintroduced the double bun trend at the MTV music awards back in 2013. Although Miley didn’t rock it as much as I wish she did, she definitely got people talking about the double buns again. & for that I thank her.

Mom/Boyfriend Jeans. This is my absolute favorite trend that’s coming back. Mom/Boyfriend jeans are super comfortable yet fashionable. I actually wear mom/boyfriend jeans more than I wear skinny jeans. Normally you would roll the bottom of the jeans up so it’s not totally baggy.

Oh, The Places I’ll Go

Ever since my parents took my brother, sister, & I on a surprise trip to Disney World, I have always wanted to travel. To me, the best part of our trip was the plane ride (don’t get me wrong, I loved Disney World. So much so, that my family & I go back every year just to visit that same famous mouse). Because I was introduced to traveling at such a young age, I’ve had a lot of time to think about where I’d love to visit. Here’s just a couple of places I’d like to travel to.
Enjoy…

Santorini-Greece-8-1Foundtheworld.com

Greece- One of my most favorite things about traveling is that you get to see things you normally wouldn’t see in your day to day life. Greece is first on my list because c’mon, just google this place. It’s beautiful!! The beaches & the buildings & the environment & just everything looks like a dream come true!

England- Ever since I saw The Bridget Jones Diary I’ve wanted to travel to London- Well that & to have two hotties fighting over me… But that’s besides the point- It’s not a tropical place at all, but the breathtaking monuments is the reason it made my list. Buckingham Palace, The London Eye, Big Ben, & The Tower of London is reason enough to go to London.

France- This is another country with breathtaking monuments, but it’s also one of the top fashion capitals of the world. If I won the lottery I think the first thing I would do is fly to Paris & pull a Blair Waldorf. For all my non Gossip Girl fans, I would shop & shop & probably shop some more. Other than shopping, I would love to see the original Mona Lisa & of course the iconic Eiffel Tower.

Fiji-46699www.expedia.com

Fiji- I’m pretty sure Fiji is on everyone’s travel bucket list. & if it’s not on yours, maybe I can convince you to add it. Fiji is home to beautiful coral reefs & volcanoes. As well as, warm beaches. If you’re not one to just sit on a sandy beach & relax, there are more adventurous things to do. For instance, maybe flying over the island & seeing the mountains from wonderful angles peaks your interests more. No matter what you’re interested in, you can never go wrong with a trip to Fiji.

New Zealand- Last but certainly not least is New Zealand. I’m not gonna lie, New Zealand is mainly on my list because I would LOVE to see where they filmed The Lord of The Rings & The Hobbit. But other than that, I think it would be so cool to hike there. Since I grew up in Colorado, I’ve been hiking A LOT & it’s my favorite activity to do outside. The mountains in New Zealand are so beautifully, green that I’d be so memorized the whole time. & for real, who wouldn’t want to pretend they were on a secret mission to destroy a very hateful ring or pretend to kill a man eating, power hungry dragon & take back their home?

2016 Summer Bucket List

If you’re anything like me, you’re counting down the days until summer vacation. We’re currently in the home stretch & only have about two months left of school. Since it’s already starting to feel like summer, I thought it would be appropriate to assemble a list of 9 things I would love to try during summer. Enjoy…

  1. Instead of driving around town, ride my bike around. It’s not only a great workout but it’s also amazing for the environment.
  2. Try a bikram yoga class. A bikram yoga class takes place in a really hot room & I’ve heard you feel great afterwards. I take a regular yoga class at my gym & I would love to try a bikram yoga class.
  3. Temporarily dye my hair a fun, exciting color.
  4. Go to local carnivals & treat myself to a funnel cake. Or a deep fried oreo. Or a deep fried twinkie. Or a deep fried anything…
  5. Jam out at a music festival.
  6. Learn a new talent that is unusually cool & unique.
  7. Go to a flower market & surprise someone I love with flowers.
  8. Volunteer at the children’s hospital or animal shelter.
  9. Copy my favorite couple, Carl & Ellie & make an adventure book of all my excursions. Adventure is Out There!!
